Oncology
SCOPE:
As a Hematology-Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with hematological and oncological disorders. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care and support to our patients and their familes.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients. * Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response, prescribes therapies as indicated. * Performs procedures with minimal supervision. * Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. * Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. * Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.* Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.* Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. * Likely to provide case management for patients and their families. * Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.* May provide palliative care for patient and their families as needed.* May promote/provide staff education.* Responsibilities include rounding at affiliated hospitals. On-call one night per week and 13 weekends (approximately once a month) or after-hour calls. * Other duties as assigned.
