US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is Hiring an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Near Elizabeth, NC

Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our offices located in Elizabeth City, NC.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting, that includes daily rounding
  • Conducts consults for patients
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions
  • Evaluate and record patient and family response within practice protocol
  • Prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
  • Assess patient and family needs and provides education
  • Promotes/provides staff education
  • Serve as a liaison between inpatient, skilled nursing, and home setting
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
Qualifications
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Post Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant; acute care required, hematology/oncology experience ispreferred
  • Inpatient experience preferred
  • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment
  • RN State License and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state, along with current state certification of Nurse Practitioner or current state license as a Physician Assistant
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Must be willing to travel to the various practice locations
