US Naval Air Systems Command is Hiring an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) Near Orlando, FL

Duties

  • You will serve as an Information Systems Security Officer for multiple Acquisition Program Integrated-Product Teams (IPT) and/or Research Development Test and Engineering Laboratories.
  • You will guide other Cybersecurity personnel within the IPT/Labs to ensure information systems (IS) or platform information technology (PIT) systems are in compliance with DoD/Navy Cybersecurity policies and instructions.
  • You will ensure Cybersecurity requirements are fully integrated into all phases of the acquisition, upgrade, or modification programs, including initial design, development, testing, fielding, and operation/sustainment.
  • You will develop plans for the information or platform IT system assessment and authorization, evaluate assessments, recommend appropriate corrective action when deficiencies are identified and prepare required reports.
  • You will ensure the development, review, endorsement and maintenance of Cybersecurity for the assessment and approval documentation in accordance with DoD and DON policy for all applications, networks, stand-alone systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-3 pay band or GS-9/10 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and formulating concepts, policy, techniques and procedures, instructions, certifications, standards, and criteria appropriate to the effective implementation and management of the Cybersecurity program; 2) Ensuring Cybersecurity requirements are fully integrated into all phases of the acquisition, upgrade, or modification programs, including initial design, development, testing, fielding, and operation/sustainment; 3) Providing customers with information/analytical support/guidance on Cybersecurity requirements; and/or 4) Planning and conducting Cybersecurity continuous monitoring and analysis to ensure systems maintain acceptable level of cybersecurity posture.

Education

The following education may be substituted for experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.

This position is a Cyber Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain qualifications in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and supporting Department of Navy policies, for work role 461 - Systems Security Analyst proficiency level Intermediate within 9 months of appointment.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
