If selected for this position, the incumbent may perform the following duties:
In order to qualify for the Budget Technician GS-0561 position at the GS-05 level if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must have completed 4 years of education above high school;
OR
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: monitoring expenses for supplies and services; researching and compiling information to respond to routine administrative inquiries; and using software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, and forms.
OR
Have a combination of post high school education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
In order to qualify for a Budget Technician GS-0561 position at the GS-06 level:
You must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in reviewing vouchers, purchase requests and contract invoices to verify budgetary account codes and cost estimates; adjusting account balances to reflect the effect of allocations, transfers, obligations, and transactions; and collecting budget information for use in budget reports.
In order to qualify for a Budget Technician GS-0561 position at the GS-07 level:
You must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in researching accounting information to identify budget variances or irregularities; reviewing vouchers, purchase requests and contract invoices to verify budgetary account codes and cost estimates; and preparing summary financial reports and documents using automated systems.
