U.S. Got People is searching for a dedicated professional for work as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant as a contractor position at Navy Medical Center Camp Lejeune and outer lying clinics, Jacksonville, NC.

Job Duties include but not limited to:

• Perform a variety of duties to carry out occupational therapy treatments prescribed for patients as a result of injury; surgery; respiratory, cardiac, and/or aging conditions; and neurological and other illness such as diabetes, stroke, closed-head injury, multiple sclerosis and others. Applies a wide variety of occupational therapy rehabilitation techniques and procedures to facilitate rehabilitation objectives including community reintegration outings, group therapy, cognitive retraining, physical agent modalities and the use of specialized procedures and a high degree of competence for complex physical and psychological conditions. Instruct and assess patients in the performance of activities of daily living (ADL), fabricate and fit splints or assist with splinting as needed, work with Assistive TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL to educate and train patients in the use of assistive technological devices which lead to independence in daily activities.
• Interview patient and obtain detailed medical and demographic information preliminary to the occupational therapy treatment plan. Record pertinent demographic data. Develop questions to illicit details of patient condition such as nature and mechanism of injury, single or multiple conditions, prior treatment, medications, X-ray results, and activities which exacerbate and mitigate symptoms. Recognize specific details during discussion with patient for implication of pathology problems.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in the development of treatment plans to attain initial, intermediate, and final rehabilitation objectives
• Administer treatment according to treatment plan. Based on knowledge, experience and training, make evaluations of patient reactions and progress recognizing subtle changes to patient’s responses indicating negative response or adverse impact of treatment to patient’s overall conditions. Select and adapt procedures and/or therapeutic approaches to meet objectives.

Qualifications:

• Degree/Education (5.2.4): Associates Degree for Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Certifications: Certified through the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Experience: A minimum of one year professional experience within the preceding three years working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant.
