US Federal Aviation Administration is Hiring an Aviation Safety Assistant (OA) Near Hapeville, GA

Duties

Provides administrative, semi-technical, and clerical related support to the supervisor, or manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASIs), and Administrative Officer. Utilizes tools relevant to the Safety Assurance System environment which includes obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files. Processes issued airman certificates such as a designated representative, mechanics, repairmen, flight engineers, and pilots. Interviews applicants to determine qualifications for non-complex certificates. Processes inspection authorization, aircrew program designee, aerobatic competency, etc. Processes issues operator and air agency certificates such as air carrier, repair stations, and approved schools. Examines applications and supporting documents for completeness, consistency of information, and assures correction, if required.

Qualifications

To qualify for grade FG-7, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D, FG/GS-6 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: variety of administrative functions such as typing, preparing clear concise reports, creating and maintaining a file management system, including records or sensitive, priority, and urgent documents. Reviewing correspondence and documents to determine compliance and regulations. Prepare, receive, review and verify the adequacy of documents or reports.
