SUMMARY Act as a company representative in overseeing the work activities of hourly associates in assigned work area. Please note the hours for this shift may range from 6am to 4pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create daily the operators schedule.
- Serve as a conduit for company, plant and departmental communications to employees in assigned area.
- Oversee/lead manufacturing personnel in area assigned.
- Manage and maintain the attendance and vacation spreadsheet.
- Check assigned area for any new quality alerts or containment actions and ensure operator compliance.
- Assist in training of all new operators or existing operators on new jobs, documenting as required
- Maintaining area cleanliness (free of parts on the floor, label backing, runners etc.) including removal of any product left at machine at the end of each production run, insert change, color change, etc.
- Maintaining area organization (packaging, product, scrap, equipment etc.).
- Providing operators with, and ensuring the correct completion of, all paperwork. (Most notably scrap sheets)
- Daily and periodic checking of all operators in section for conformance to established quality and production requirements (proper labeling, trimming, packing, output etc.).
- Alerting plant supervision of any jobs in section running at a slow or high defect rate.
- Productive use of any spare time (working in the hold area, proper foam usage etc.).
- Assist in reworking/sorting nonconforming/suspect product produced on assigned shift.
- Serve as leader for associates in assigned area in group problem solving and employee involvement activity.
- Fill in for supervisor when is out.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
- Comply with of all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
- Enter production data in parts plus system.
- Any other duties as assigned by plant supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists supervise in overseeing all employees in assigned area. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s plans, policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and motivating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; holding associates accountable; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual (Spanish/English) please apply.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
