US Equestrian Fed is Hiring a Paid Summer Internship (Part-Time) Near Lexington, KY

This position supports the Federation’s mission and vision by demonstrating a commitment to exemplary member service, as well as a collaborative spirit, equality, fairness, respect, and accountability. 

JOB SUMMARY:

As an intern with United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to our mission: To provide access to and increase participation in equestrian sports at all levels by ensuring fairness, safety, and enjoyment. This is a paid summer internship that will last 12 weeks for a maximum of 20 hours per week. (May 31st – Aug. 12th) This position will also provide administrative support to the department for which they are assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Filing, copying, scanning correspondence.
  • Preparing packets and mailings.
  • Interact with senior management, coaches, volunteer committees and staff.
  • Handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality is a primary requirement of this position, so this individual is responsible for complying with the US Equestrian Document Destruction and Retention Policy.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. 
  • Special projects and other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Exceptional member service is provided, and member relationships are enhanced.
  • Communication with members and staff is effective and professional.
  • Relationships with Directors and other staff are productive and promote a positive team environment.
  • Assistance is provided to other department members when needed.
  • Other general office tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Clerical or customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. (Anything over 25 pounds requires a two-person lift)
