Job Title: Pipe Fitter Helper

Location: Browns Summit, NC

Pay: $18-20/hourly based on experience.

Schedule: 1st shift (Monday-Thursday; 6:00am-4:30p)

Position Description: As a Pipe Fitter Helper, you will play a vital role in assisting experienced pipe fitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial piping systems. This entry-level position requires a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success. You will be responsible for various tasks, with a focus on supporting the pipe fitting process and ensuring the overall efficiency of the projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation of industrial piping systems, including chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensed water.
• Have knowledge of reading blueprints and submittals while continuing to learn to understand project requirements.
• Support the fabrication of pipe supports and spool copper lines under the guidance of experienced pipe fitters.
• Work collaboratively with the team, demonstrating the ability to work independently and problem-solve.
• Assist in the repair, capping, and testing of various plumbing piping systems.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
• Instruct and mentor plumbing helpers under your supervision as you gain experience.
• Obtain and maintain the necessary licenses to operate equipment required for the role.

Education Requirements/Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
• Basic rigging knowledge is preferred.
• Some exposure to pipe fitting through coursework, on the job training and/or basic training.
• Knowledge of welding is preferred.
• Knowledge of different types of pipe, valves, fittings, and their functions.
• General awareness of code requirements and limitations.
• Familiarity with occupational hazards, including ladder safety.

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

• Willingness to take ownership of basic pipefitter hand tools.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with the team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
