Duties

As a Biometric System Program Specialist, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Identifies potential uses of IDENT/HART services and seeks to extend and implement these services with the goal of improving the efficiency of DHS operations and decision making.
  • Responsible for facilitating OBIM stakeholder management activities, development of biometric system technologies, facilitation of stakeholder requests, and the generation and execution of special analyses of operations and business processes.
  • Creates and advocates for change requests to expedite existing development processes and provide prioritization, deliverable specifications, and stakeholder coordination to achieve mission essential changes requested by OBIM identity management partners.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and improvement of data quality through data analytics, report generation, and formulation of procedural and/or corrective actions with the purpose of increasing the accuracy of the IDENT data holdings.
  • Leads the definition, statistical analysis, and reporting of IDENT/HART operational data points describing how the IDENT/HART system is functioning.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent private sector experience.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
  • Independently responsible for facilitating stakeholder management activities, development of biometric system technologies, facilitation of stakeholder requests, and the generation and execution of routine and special analyses of operations and business processes.
  • Creates and advocates for change requests to expedite existing development processes and provide prioritization, deliverable specifications, and stakeholder coordination to achieve mission essential changes.
  • Strategizes, documents, and executes short-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones which serve as the basis for substantive changes related to data cleansing, maturation of identity services, future biometric identification and verification strategies, as well as technological processes required for the Department to meet the needs of stakeholders worldwide.
  • Prepares and executes in-depth briefings involving all levels of leadership, other federal agencies, other branches of the Federal Government, State and foreign partners, and commercial organizations/interest groups.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
