PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 10 pounds, may occasionally handle items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Hand trucks, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is generally done in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. The attendant may occasionally work in areas that are drafty. The work is sometimes dirty, dusty, and greasy. The attendants are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
