US Defense Health Agency is Hiring a Program Manager Near Falls, VA

Duties

  • Serves as Assistant Program Manager responsible for managing new systems through advanced development, production and fielding.
  • Assures Interface and coordination of all actions with other Government agencies, including Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA) and other organization elements.
  • Directs the work of specialists within the office and, through functional managers, the activities of a great many matrix support specialists.
  • Exercises management control of all functional inputs to the program.
  • Maintains direct channel communications with system users and the user community.
  • Analyzes the impact that contemplated budget revisions, proposed adjustments, legislative changes, economic trends or directives from higher echelons may have upon projects and take positive action to minimize adverse effects.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Practitioner This is a DOD Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement for Program Manager, NH-0340-03:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the review of contractual documents for external distribution; AND providing the management reports to senior level leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
**Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Active Career Field. DOD Position Certification Level and Training Requirements. All Acquisition Workforce Positions Mandated in Title 10, USC, Section 1723. DoD 5000.52-M, DOD Acquisition Career Development Program contains specific requirements for acquisition categories and grade/level. **This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position. The employee must meet the DODI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category/Functional Area and the Career Level Certification assigned on the sequenced position Conditions of Employment data filed in the header of the PD/PRD.
Practitioner (formerly Level II)
This is a DOD Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
