US Army Installation Management Command is Hiring a Library Technician NF-03 Near White, NM

Duties

  • Incumbent will perform a wide variety of public service duties such as circulation, reference/reader's advisory, database searching, collection maintenance, programming, marketing, displays/publicity, and interlibrary loans.
  • Performs a wide variety of technical service duties such as cataloging/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing/accounting for and de-acquisitioning of library materials, shelf inventories; etc.
  • Will perform a wide variety of systems application and maintenance which may include standard office software, basic Integrated Library System and PC management.
  • Performs selected administrative management duties to include ensuring internal controls are in place in public services and/or technical services.
  • Serves as a lead library technician. Trains others in the performance of library technician duties.
  • Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year of work experience that equipped the applicant with practical knowledge of library or related information services, tools, and methods and procedures.
  • Experience must have been gained at the next lower level.
Best Qualifications:
  • At least three (3) years experience (paid or unpaid) in basic/copy cataloging or at least one year of advanced cataloging in a library setting.
And meet at least one of the following best-qualified criteria:
  • At least one (1) year experience (paid or unpaid) of planning, implementing, and executing events and programming for adults, teens, and/or children.
  • At least one (1) year experience (paid or unpaid) registering patrons, charging/discharging materials, and/or shelving materials.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
