About US 1 Shorthaul's Forklift Operator Position:


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility
  • Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
  • Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
  • Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
  • Picking and wrapping orders for shipment
  • Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
  • Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
  • Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
  • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency
  • Securing loads to the machine before transportation
  • Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
  • Produce activity logs
  • Identifying workplace safety hazards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Ability to operate a two-way radio
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Spatial awareness
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Valid certification to operate forklifts (preferred)
  • 1-Year forklift driving experience (preferred)


POSITION TYPE:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, paid weekly
