****Position Summary****
Manage the procurement of competitively priced, quality transportation and distribution services form reliable vendors at or below benchmark rate levels to insure all network transportation needs are met. Ensure vendor performance to Teleflex LLC required service levels and in accordance with the Arrow/Teleflex Quality System requirements. Mange the negotiation, implementation, and maintenance of all related transportation contracts and rates.
****Principal Responsibilities****
* Manage the procurement of competitively priced, quality transportation services from reliable vendors at or below benchmark rate levels to insure all network transportation needs are met.
* Provide deep functional expertise in Freight procurement and management while leveraging the Teleflex global Distribution & Logistics spend to ensure best value for Teleflex service and cost.
* Manage the negotiation, implementation and maintenance of all related transportation contracts and rates.
* Develop and standardize operational and technical carrier onboarding process with NADC and Teleflex control tower.
* Coordinate with Teleflex control tower to support integration of freight bills processing, auditing, and payment activities
* Support NADC continuous improvement activities and initiatives such as daily tactical meetings.
* Ensuring vendor performance to Arrow/Teleflex required service levels and compliance with the Arrow/Teleflex Quality System.
* Perform performance management of carriers, including dispute resolution.
* Develop, manage, and publish external and internal KPIs (i.e. capacity development, on time performance, etc.)
* Partner with all freight partners/operations to ensure best practice and deliver excellent service at best cost to Teleflex, negotiation of contract terms, SOPs and rates with carriers and freight forwarders.
* Develop, implement and monitor standardized KPIs
* Initiates and drives annual CIPs(Cost Improvement Projects) to support the companys financial objectives.
* Provide project and change management expertise to key strategic change projects by partnering with business management in the definition, planning and execution of specific change strategies.
* Exhibits firm grasp of transport conditions & handling requirements throughout the distribution chain in order to assure product quality is not negatively impacted.
* Directs country specific goals and objectives that support and align with regional/global initiatives
* Readily engage with Business stakeholders and is able to clearly articulate a stakeholder needs around all things transport related.
* Responsible and accountable for building annual budgets, supporting monthly performance to budget reporting and analysis, this applies to all modes and all lanes of activity domestic and regional.
****Education / Experience Requirements****
BS/BA (i.e. Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain)
Progressive responsibility in Transportation Procurement ($10 mm spend minimum) Min 10 years of logistics work experience
Demonstrated experience leading RFQs in a transport environment
Thorough understanding of Arrows Quality System requirements and service level requirements to customers.
Supervisory role (min 5 years).
Rate and service negotiation (pricing) surface transportation.
Capacity negotiation.
Solid understanding of motor carrier (TL and LTL) and air transport operations, rate structures, terms, and concepts required.
Strong Transportation Management Systems (TMS) experience
Proficient in (MS Word, Outlook & Excel)
Experience in working with SAP preferred
Demonstrate ability to lead significant change management projects in the logistics or supply chain environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office applications, word, excel. PPt essential
Experience with Tableau or other reporting tools.
In case of absences of team members, willing to cover different shifts and willing to travel as necessary.
Attention to detail and accuracy essential
Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure
