The Quality Improvement, Evaluation, and Training (QIET) department seeks a Director of Data Management and Improvement to enhanceURI’s data capabilities, ensure data quality, and drive data-driven decision making. The Director will lead all elements of continuous quality improvementincluding data quality assurance, data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation of URI’s programmatic data including inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impact. The Director will also develop, implement, and continually improve data managementpolicies, processes, and practices to align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
Salary: $100,000
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Worksin collaboration with the VP of QIET to continuously evaluate and understand organizational data needs and deliver data-driven insights and reporting capabilities.
• Develop expertise in all CMS systems used by URI’s programs, includingthe forms used by various programsand their relationship to funder reporting requirements as well as agency KPIs and program outcomes.
• Lead the creation and revision of programmatic forms and reports as needed.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of up-to-date end-user manuals and other related documentation.
• Coordinate and support the completion of programmaticdata audits and the development of corrective action plans.
• Lead the analysis of programmatic data and present findings and recommendations to relevant members of the Programs’Division andleadership.
• Complete quarterly reports requested by the NYC Continuum of Care and other oversight entities.
• Respond to data requests in a thoughtful and timely manner.
• Lead the development of data standards and best practices.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for data-related issues and initiatives, working collaboratively to resolve challenges.
• Lead and mentor the Data Management and Improvement Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• The position requiresin-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
• Other duties as requested based on department, program and/or organizational needs.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, or Social Work.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Passion for URI’s mission, vision, and core values with the ability to communicate this passion to others.
• 5 years of experience in data management and analysis, quality improvement, with attention to detail while maintaining a big picture view.
• 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role and/or leading ateam in support of data and impact work, with the ability to support and develop others.
• Experience serving as administrator to a social service data system, such as Apricot or Salesforce.
• Experience in analyzing data models via reporting packages such as SQL or Microsoft Power BI in a social services or health services environment.
• Experience in direct service provision in a social service organization a plus
• Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly.
• Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
