Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental assisting, possess strong organizational skills, and be committed to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to ensure efficient and smooth operations within the dental office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record patients' vital signs
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments and materials to the dentist
- Perform dental x-rays and process images using medical imaging software
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems (FUSE)
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and processing images
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (FUSE)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
