Title: District-Wide Social Emotional Learning Committee Member (Multiple Positions Available)

Summary: Social-emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills that are vital for school, work, and life success. People with strong social-emotional skills are better able to cope with everyday challenges and benefit academically, professionally, and socially

1) Qualifications

  • Specific knowledge and skills 
  1. Social and Emotional Learning experience and knowledge (Certified and/or practical experience)
  2. Problem-solving and school improvement planning experience 
  3. Leadership competencies (e.g., establishing and maintaining positive relationships, communicating effectively, facilitating team processes)
  • Fosters positive relationships with other faculty/staff members
  • Promotes shared decision-making and has the ability to work collaboratively with administrators/decision-makers
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in groups
  • Commitment to the process of using Social Emotional Learning practices
  • Ability and interest to attend team training, meetings, and advanced training opportunities

2) Communication

  • Communicate and offer feedback about Social Emotional Learning activities at School Board Meetings, District and Faculty meetings
  • Network with other district leaders and Mental Health staff
  • Communicate with families and/or parent liaisons
  • Communicate with District-based coaches and represent Social Emotional Learning at the District Level as needed

3) Responsibilities

  • Attend bi-monthly (August, October, December, February, and April) building level social emotional learning team meetings
  • Attend bi-monthly (September, November, January, March, and May)

district wide social emotional learning committee meetings during the school year

  • Complete one social emotional learning project each quarter to support social emotional learning in your school 
  • Assist in providing social emotional learning professional development to staff
  • Elevate voices in support of Social Emotional Learning 

School Year: 2024-2025

Stipend: $1000
