Urban Tails Veterinary Hospital is a state-of-the-art hospital located in the heart of Durham’s Golden Belt Arts Campus. We practice fear-free, community-based medicine and we want our clients to feel as though we are part of their families. We are a small team that works well together.

Preferred Skills:

• Providing general nursing care
• Obtaining accurate patient history and patient vitals
• Knowledge of proper vaccine protocol
• Ability to read fecal samples and ear cytologies
• Radiology training
• Administering medication and treatments; oral, injectable, ophthalmic, and aural medication
• Drawing blood samples on canines and felines for diagnostic testing
• Intravenous catheter placement
• Experience with monitoring animals under anesthesia and the ability to alert the doctor when a problem arises.
• Maintenance of laboratory and anesthetic equipment
• Excellent organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

• Are you able to draw blood and place IV catheters?
• Are you familiar with up to date vaccine protocols?

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Veterinary Experience: 2 years (Required)
