Urban Feed & Garden is a neighborhood nursery and pet supply store in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. We are looking to fill a retail sales position on our staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ringing up customers, answering plant care and pet care questions, assisting in stocking and inventory management, cleaning, stocking, and receiving merchandise. Because our primary business is selling plants a willingness to learn about basic gardening and fielding those questions is important. We are a small crew and will all pitch in with whatever needs doing.
You must have strong customer service skills, be friendly and outgoing, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently. Basic computer skills are a must.
This is a physical job, you must be able to stand for long periods and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds as well as work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Weekend shifts are required. This is a seasonal hire with the possibility of moving to a permanent year-round position.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Qualifications
· Excellent customer service skills, including experience with POS systems, retail sales, and cash handling.
· Experience or interest in pet care, pet nutrition, and pet retail is strongly recommended.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
· Proficiency in English with multilingual abilities is a plus.
· Basic knowledge of retail math and merchandising practices.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle cash transactions, and assist with stocking and organizing merchandise.
· Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and computer skills for tasks such as inventory management and order processing.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing retail space.
· Physical ability to lift and move items as needed in a garden center or retail setting.
