Part-Time Commercial Maintenance Technician

General Job Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining two commercial properties, the main three building property in Fayetteville and the one building property in Baldwinsville. The position requires a variety of general maintenance/ handyman tasks including but not limited to basic plumbing and electrical tasks, painting, caulking, power washing and landscaping. This role works autonomously and is responsible to observe all health and safety guidelines while ensuring the properties are professionally maintained. On Call for Emergencies Only.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems, ie., replace light bulbs, sockets, light switches
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• When repairs are beyond general maintenance, work with supervisor to schedule vendors.
• Perform general manual repairs including but not limited to:
• Toilet/sink repair or replacement
• Drywall repair
• Replace/repair locks
• Painting
• Carpentry
• General Landscaping
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide when necessary
• All other duties assigned and not otherwise listed above.

Qualifications, Education and skill Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of maintenance experience
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently without supervision.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer service when interacting with tenants.
• Flexible; able to adapt to change quickly.
• Highly developed time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Understanding of Safety, Health and Code regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any staff supervisory responsibilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
