We are seeking a Senior Network Operations Analyst who will be an essential part of our Network team. This position will be responsible for managing in-house and client systems to meet their IT administration and monitoring needs to administer and monitor their internal systems and upgrades. While this position is mostly remote, you will have opportunities to visit client sites and work directly with the client. Position Description:

This position will be responsible for managing in-house and client systems including backups, system patching, anti-virus events, and remediating issues during day time hours and 24 x 7 on-call with critical uptime requirements. This position interfaces with clients to meet their IT administration and monitoring needs, and to administer and monitor their internal systems and upgrades. 

Backup/Patching Administration (30%)

  • Ensure data integrity by validating backup systems, testing, remediating failures, and executing the Disaster Recovery plan when required.
  • Install, update, troubleshoot, and patch software and applications.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities.

System Administration and Upgrades (25%)

  • Manage Veeam upgrades and restorations.
  • Administration of software stack including deployment, configuration, upgrades, and remediation while avoiding customer outages.
  • Monitor system and application components and respond to incidents.
  • Manage overall NOC projects with emphasis on the security stack.
  • Install equipment including servers, switching, wireless, etc.
  • Serves as the main point of contact with client for NOC operations, providing regular status updates.

Managing Security Service, Data Center, & Support Escalations (30%)

  • Conduct internal audits (compliance, security, HIPAA) annually and ad hoc.
  • Monitor security tools for problems and take appropriate actions, including Duo (MFA), Microsoft 365, Blackpoint MDR, Security Awareness Training/Phishing, Sentinel One (AV), Mimecast, and Vircom/Proofpoint (email filtering).
  • Work hands-on installing VMware servers and maintaining virtualized environments.
  • Monitor, maintain, and upgrade required software and hardware for data center infrastructure.
  • Perform quarterly and annual planning, ensuring necessary resources are available.
  • Determine the severity of an incident and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate as appropriate.
  • Update assigned tickets, resolving as required until completion. 

Remote Monitoring & Management (5%)

  • Maintain IT systems (N-Able N-Central server, Liongard, Sonicwall NSM (firewall monitoring)), responding to conditions and work to remediate issues as they arise.
  • Perform configurations and configuration backups, as needed.
  • Run reporting to monitor and communicate system status.

Administrative Duties (10%)

  • Maintain company’s internal documentation, utilizing IT Glue and Whale.
  • Create standardized documentation for resolving escalation incidents.
  • Utilize time entry system to capture accurate time allocation and project coding.
  • Acts as a mentor and resource for more junior staff.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to get results and resolve customer needs.
  • Ability to investigate and find the root cause of issues and follow through with corrective actions.
  • Comfortable demanding excellence in self and team to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare vCenter/ESXi
  • Experience with Windows Server and Windows Desktop
  • Experience with networking and firewall administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange & 365 Administration 

Candidate Should Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 10 Years experience in Information Technology or related field
  • 3 Years experience in Veeam and VMWare
  • Valid Drivers’ license and insurance
