Job Overview:

The Director, R&D Operations, is primarily responsible for managing LivaNova global innovation projects in both Neuromodulation and Cardiopulmonary business units. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer (CINO), this highly relational R&D operations role requires strong consulting skills, project management experience balancing complex projects and the proven ability to manage external engagements such as conferences, media, social networks, LinkedIn branding, and the creation of board presentations.

The individual will run assigned meetings, including the content creation and prioritization of activities while playing an integral role in tracking key initiatives, goals, objectives, and KPIs for the LivaNova Innovation community. Additionally, the role manages cross-functional committees, ensuring the timely delivery of project deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Work daily with a high-level of integrity and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture in both people and thought leadership that is consistent with LivaNova values.

• Maintain role as the organizational resource for the innovation community, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic goals.

• Organize and run technical governance meetings that CINO is accountable.

• Attend meetings for assigned function team to facilitate progress, provide guidance, and support.

• Collaborate with functional leads and ensure the timely execution of all deliverables.

• Identify and communicate inter-dependencies and or cross-functional barriers; recommend and coordinate solutions to ensure progression of deliverables.

• Maintain role as Operations advisor and thought partner by structuring undefined issues for resolution, researching issues, summarizing information, and work with relevant stakeholders to provide the executive with the information needed to make sound decisions.

• Partner with a variety of individuals from within LivaNova, other entities and other regions.

• Assist and advise others to ensure their recommendations and reports are consistent and coordinated across the organization and thoroughly crafted.

• Utilize LivaNova Business Systems (LBS) planning and reporting templates and ensure timely updates from all leads for the duration of the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a consultant or project manager, preferably in the medical or medical device field, with a successful track record in managing high-profile projects.

• Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and ensuring the delivery of project deliverables.

• Strong, confident facilitation skills.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to align project activities with strategic goals.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage and influence C-level stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Microsoft Office, Project Management software and Salesforce experience is ideal.

• Caring, empathetic, and solution centric approach in the workplace.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• This position may require occasional business travel 25% or more of the time (Houston or OUS).

Pay: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $124,250 - $206,750 discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
