Job Summary and Purpose
Due to a retirement, we are looking for a star with keen organizational skills to join the small but productive UCSRB team in the role of Accountant/Bookkeeper. This 32-40 hour/week position is responsible for a range of non-profit and operational activities, including maintaining our accounting system, currently on a modified accrual basis, grant billing, payroll, annual reporting, and other priorities as needed. This position provides timely financial information to the Executive Director, the UCSRB Board and reporting as required by federal, state, and other funding sources.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintains and reconciles the general ledger in accordance with contract and grant requirements.
· Prepares year-end cash basis work papers and schedules for the annual audit, annual BARS financial report to the State Auditor’s Office and the annual Form 990.
· Assists the Executive Director coordinate periodic audits with the State Auditor’s Office.
· In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and monitors the annual budget and helps track grant and contract funding status.
· Presents fiscal data, such as balance sheets, income statements, budget-to-actual analyses, to the Executive Director, UCSRB Finance Committee and Board of Directors to ensure financial clarity and facilitate decision-making.
· In collaboration with the Program Assistant, process cash receipts, disbursements, and prepare client invoices.
· Assists with the preparation and review of budgets for grant proposals and financial reporting for contracts.
· Monitors cash flow to ensure the financial obligations of the UCSRB are met.
· Processes payroll, W-2’s, and 1099’s for contracted services.
· Allocates indirect costs and develops indirect rate proposals to funders.
· Assists with onboarding of new hires.
· Assists with regular reviews of the UCSRB personnel and operation policy manual.
· Supports the UCSRB team with other activities, such as annual open enrollment information, event planning/budgeting and other key priorities as needed and assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field with at least three to five (3-5) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
· Strong communication, organizational and coordination skills
· Ability to self-manage deliverables and timelines with multiple and overlapping tasks.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
Compensation
This is a 32-40 hours/week position. Based on experience, the starting salary range for this position is $34-$40/hour plus full benefits, including retirement, medical, vision, dental, vacation and sick leave. This position is based in Wenatchee, however a flexible hybrid schedule will be considered.

The Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board (UCSRB) is a nonprofit, formed to serve as a regional salmon recovery organization and to coordinate and implement the Upper Columbia Spring Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Plan. One of seven regional salmon recovery organizations in Washington, the UCSRB is directed by a five-member board with representatives from Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, and the Yakama Nation. The UCSRB staff work to support partner organizations, tribes, governments, industry, and other interests in collaborative efforts to enhance ecological restoration processes for salmon recovery and advocate for Upper Columbia regional needs and resources that provide economic, cultural and social benefits to our regional communities.
