Purpose:
The Residential Advisor II will provide direct care to sixteen male and female patients primarily diagnosed with schizophrenia. Will work alongside Nurses, Therapists, and will report to the Program Manager.
The schedule will vary between 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts. Meals are provided. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. On-street parking is available, meals are included, and the dress code is casual.
Responsibilities:
·Assure quality and continuity of care through liaison with other members of the treatment team and community agencies.
·Participate as member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, working in conjunction with ambulatory care staff, program staff, and physicians, ICMs to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
·Serve as a role model to residents and facilitates skill generalization.
·Participate in committees as assigned.
·Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the LTSR. Makes routine tours of the entire residence to ensure safety, monitors all consumer areas, and intervenes in crisis situations.
·Work with Program Director to establish learning needs and a plan to meet same.
·Work in collaboration with Specialty Counselor, Program Director, and Music Therapist to develop, coordinate and implement group curriculum.
·Assist in developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating group programming along with other group specialists at CCS.
·Provide direct care to residents of the long terms structured residence based on CSP principles, recovery, and rehabilitation model of care.
·Responsible for maintaining the therapeutic milieu.
·Assist in training and orientation of new staff.
·Complete accurate documentation of care provided.
·Maintain accuracy and completeness of client records in compliance with WPIC standards.
·Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Improvement studies as assigned.
·Care for equipment and supplies as necessary, and reorders supplies as they are needed.
·Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of mental health principles related to SPMI population.
·Provide ADL assessments and plans targeted at skill development.
·Provide self-help skills training such as activities of daily living, socialization, groups related to interpersonal effectiveness, social skills, grooming, laundering, and maintaining belongings, community involvement and awareness.
·Plan, organize, and implement group therapy for residents at the LTSR acting as leader or co-leader.
·Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans.
·Provide assistance with ADLs, hygiene and laundry as needed.
·Provide community outreach as needed.
·Report pertinent clinical or non-clinical needs or problems to appropriate administrative staff.
·Participate in the orientation of new staff as assigned.
