UPMC Western Psychiatric – Western Wellness is seeking a Licensed Psychologist for a full-time position integrated into a large family medicine practice that spans two locations. The practice routinely earns outstanding ratings on its care. The position requires a compassionate and competent psychologist who will function at the highest level of their license to provide direct, individual therapy to adults as well as collaboration within the larger medical practice. Treatment is typically short-term, goal-focused care.

The schedule for this role will be daylight hours, with flexibility regarding scheduling that will meet the needs of the psychologist and the medical staff. Four 10-hour shifts are an option. On-call hours are not required, and the position is supervised by a Lead Psychologist. 

The position is shared between two Family Medicine practices: Squirrel Hill Family Medicine at 5608 Wilkins Avenue, 15217, and Matilda Theiss Family Medicine at 1860 Centre Ave, 15219.

Sign-On Bonus Details

• 2-year work commitment--$5,000

• 3-year work commitment--$7,000

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality psychotherapy, using empirically validated treatments and interventions
• Demonstrate highly developed knowledge and skill in the differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders. Perform initial psychological assessment with accuracy
• Maintain accurate and complete records and data collection, performed in a timely fashion
• Participate in regular supervisory meetings to review adherence to quality standards
• Schedule crisis/urgent sessions to support and assist patients experiencing acute distress and/or symptoms when necessary.
• Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant literature and empirically validated treatments
• Schedule a sufficient volume of patients so that direct service productivity standards are maintained
• Work collaboratively with other service lines at UPMC and outside agencies assuring continuity of care with referral sources and other providers
