UPMC is Hiring a Professional Staff Nurse, BSN - Med/Surg ICU 3 Near Pittsburgh, PA

UPMC Mercy is currently hiring a full-time Professional Staff Nurse, BSN to support its Medical/Surgical ICU 3. Those with one year of prior nursing experience are strongly preferred. 

ICU 3 is a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in the care of critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma patients. Our patients range in age from young adult to geriatric. In this high acuity setting, we use advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment, central lines, and arterial lines. Treatment modalities include ventilators, pressor support, renal replacement therapy, proning therapy, and many other measures specific to critical care. Our highly skilled nurses assist with bedside procedures, provide emotional support to patients and family members, educate patients and family members about their illness, and assist in preparation for transfer/discharge. Staff members in ICU 3 are also part of the Condition Response Team which responds to emergent conditions and cardiac arrests throughout the hospital. The Professional Staff Nurse, BSN provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse, BSN establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

A Professional Staff Nurse, BSN and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. At all times, you will exemplify a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience.
