UPMC is currently hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient office on Pine Street. This is an all-inclusive Primary Care office with both Family Medicine & Pediatric providers.
The position we are hiring for is primarily Monday-Friday, with Saturday mornings covered on a rotation by all office nurses. A typical Monday - Friday work week consists of 4 day shifts (as scheduled between 7:00am - 5:00pm) and 1 evening shift (10:30am - 7:00pm). When scheduled to cover Saturday morning (4hrs: 8:00am - 12:00pm) you will have a half day during the week, typically on Friday.

• Sign-On Bonus Details:
  • $5,000.00 - 2yr Commitment | 0-1 years experience & recent graduates

Purpose:
Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities:

• Draw blood.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drip.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, and communicating physician advice/instructions.
