Borrmann Metals powered by UPG is looking for a Shift Supervisor who can lead and manage the day shift operations for our Surprise, AZ facility. This person will deliver the expected results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, People and Profitability. The Shift Supervisor must possess the desire and ability to provide leadership and supervisory coordination in all aspects of production for the facility. The Plant Supervisor will be a true strategic partner in the Operations Division. The Supervisor must be able to plan, organize, control, and schedule the work of others as well as serve as communication link between management and plant personnel. 

Job Summary:

The Shift Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Reports To: 

Production manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Trains and manages employees on the assigned shift.
• Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Issues disciplinary action when warranted.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees the production operations on assigned shift.
• Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Ensures that products are identified, weighed, and stocked correctly.
• Troubleshoots issues that arise.
• Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems.
• Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of at least 2 years of on-the-job experience in steel processing.
• Lean MFG experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolong periods of standing/walking on uneven surfaces.
• Prolong periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to traverse the production facility.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Generally, workdays are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; longer work hours work may be required to complete projects.

Work Environment:

Office / Shop environment, temperatures can vary, i.e. cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer. Noise level can be loud. Warehouse environment.
