UP Facilities is Hiring a Director of Practice Management Near Ishpeming, MI

Responsible for the strategic planning and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Physician Practice with the support of the individual providers and the Joint Operating Council.

Develops, implements and follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential informationResponsible for overall performance including, but not limited to: quality, service, financial and operational performance.Responsible for developing and implementing the medical group’s mission and strategic plan.Responsible for provider recruitment and orientation into the medical group.Responsible for developing and maintaining effective provider relations in light of potentially conflicting goals.Works with employed providers to determine practice hours, location and call coverage.Ensures medical group compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties. Initiates appropriate changes.Identifies, evaluates, reviews, and implements operating decisions as approved by management and/or providers.Responsible for continuous improvement and enhancement for overall operational effectiveness.Reviews, monitors, and evaluates provider compensation plans.Advises and implements best practices for medical group operations.Develops business plans for new health care ventures, performs assessment of likelihood of success in the marketplace, coordinates implementation, and measurement of results.Manages day-to-day operations of the medical group and ensures that prompt high quality services are provided to patients while staying within the financial parameters of the annual operating and capital budgets.Responsible for planning fee schedule review and implementation of same.Continually monitors medical group operating statistics and referral patterns to isolate trends and changes in performance to ensure the medical group in maintaining its place and competitive edge in the community and the surrounding market share.Reviews, monitors, and evaluates the reimbursement formulas of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial carriers. Maintains knowledge of governmental changes relating to reimbursement from third party intermediates.Responsible for overall management plan and staffing plan.Ensures up-to-date job descriptions and evaluation forms are completed. Coordinates employee evaluations with providers and the human resources department.Ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained. Participates in recruitment and selection, establishes employee performance standards, counsels employees with substandard performance, oversees on-the-job training and participates in separation process as needed to maintain a highly productive work team.Provides supervision to the medical group managers/supervisors.Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Completes annual educational requirements.Understands and adheres to compliance standards as they appear in LifePoint’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and LifePoint regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
Other SkillsComputer and/or keyboarding skills required, including MS Office.Exceptional human relations skills, effective oral, listening, and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with customers of various backgrounds.Proven ability to effectively manage provider relations.Excellent organizational abilities.Demonstrated teamwork skills.Ability to deal with change.Demonstrates a positive attitude towards initiating continuous improvement.Ability to respond appropriately even in challenging situations.Respond in a timely manner to concerns and requests from others.Ability to work without direct supervision.Ability to foster a group practice mentality among physician and midlevel providers.Ability to foster an independent work team culture.Maintain a consistent presence in operational areas assigned.Demonstrated experience in managed care contracting, budgeting, financial analysis and reimbursement.Demonstrated ability to earn the confidence, trust and respect of all employees, physicians and patients.Effectively coach and mentor support staff.Ability to motivate others in a positive manner.
Minimum EducationMasters degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum: 7-10 years as a physician practice administrator.Preferred: 10 years active experience in physician practice management.
