Quality Control Technician

Up At Dawn Bakery is currently seeking a full-time Quality Control Technician in our New Lenox location. The schedule for this role is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3a to 3p.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure there is quality testing all the time; carry out inspections to meet the standard set by the organization.

· Encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe working conditions.

· Focus on corrective actions to make sure that products meet required specifications.

· Initiate training for workers concerning safety programs to protect employees against food/work hazards.

· Maintain all auditing documentation.

· Collect regular samples for shelf life and analysis.

· Work with the Quality Control Manager regarding specific information relating to product information and production.

· Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits professionally.

· Mentor employees underneath the hierarchy and lead them effectively.

· Ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly and call for repairs where equipment is faulty.

· Approve finished products for onward shipment to the customer.

· Co-operate with government agencies during inspections to meet and maintain high production standards.

· Work with the management and production managers to ensure that only quality products are produced.

· Ensure that no expired raw material is used for production.

Experience/Qualifications:

· Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus but not required.

· Proven expertise in quality assurance.

· Food industry experience is preferred.

· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, standing for long periods, and operating warehouse equipment.

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This role requires weekend work as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
