About the role
As an Accountant at Unybrands you will be able to solve complex financial problems in a dynamic startup environment. You will be partnering across time zones with other internal stakeholders to maintain accounting processes and help continually develop processes and controls. In this role you will report directly to Accounting Manager AP and will be responsible for bank and payment systems reconciliations across multiple countries, preparing accounts using NetSuite ERP under IFRS. Main Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank activity and balances between bank statements and payment systems
• Reconcile Accounts Payable general ledger activity and aging balances between AP automation system (Tipalti) and ERP system (NetSuite)
• Reconcile credit card activity and balances between credit card portal (Ramp) and ERP system (NetSuite)
• Conduct weekly review of invoices, credit card activity, and direct bank debits for accurate and consistent ledger coding - fix any identified errors
• Identify necessary accruals during month end close process to ensure P&L accuracy
• Assist in 13-week cash projection reporting and metrics.
• Assist with monthly P&L reviews and follow-up questions from Brand Management/Team leaders.
• Assist in continuous improvement of the procure-to-pay cycle.
• Support financial and tax audits.
• Conduct limited technical research within assigned areas.
• Assist in department/company projects, as assigned.
• Other reasonable activities required by management/leadership.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting; preferably in the e-commerce space or consumer goods.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Demonstrate understanding of basic accounting principles in relation to:
  • Sub-ledger to General Ledger reconciliation
  • Debits and Credit pertaining to the procure-to-pay cycle
  • Effects/relationships of transactions on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
• Ability to work in a distributed (international) team.
• Highly organized and a clear communicator
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Easily adapts to new or changing processes.
• Coachable

• Robust collaboration skills
• Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, Tipalti is a plus.
