UNM Foundation is Hiring a Donor Engagement Stewardship Specialist Near Albuquerque, NM

What we Seek:

The Donor Engagement Stewardship Specialist at UNM Foundation plays a pivotal role in the cultivation and stewardship of donors. This position involves managing various projects independently or under direction, contributing to the planning, development, and execution of stewardship programs, events, and activities. The specialist will collaborate with development staff, manage strategic stewardship projects, and ensure effective donor communication and database management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development staff to support donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
  • Assist in planning, designing, and managing strategic stewardship projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and disseminate stewardship communications to inform the public about UNM Foundation's programs and achievements.
  • Provide direct stewardship and maintenance of existing donors, including major gift acknowledgment and new donor stewardship.
  • Manage comprehensive constituency lists and associated information management systems.
  • Maintain accurate donor database information and manage gift transactions, acknowledgments, and event participation.
  • Plan, manage, and execute large meetings and events to enhance donor involvement and stewardship.
  • Independently interact with internal constituencies to plan and implement stewardship projects and events.
  • Draft gift agreements, event correspondence, and other donor communications.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that encourages respect and skill development.


Required Qualification:

  • Baccalaureate degree OR 3 or more equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising or communications environment.
  • Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capacity to design and implement systems for data collection, maintenance, and analysis.


Compensation Salary Range:

$40,000 - $45,000

Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to drive personal vehicle for University and Foundation business (mileage reimbursed) and hold a valid driver’s license with current insurance, and a clean driving record. Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of criminal, driving record, and employment background screening. Some positions may also require credit background screening as well.


Working Conditions:

  • This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times, with or without assistance such as a dolly or cart.
  • May be required, on occasion, to drive personal vehicle for job-related business.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, as necessary.
