As an Urgent Care Veterinarian, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical care to animals in their time of need. You will be responsible for diagnosing, treating and managing non-critical cases in a bustling and dynamic setting. The ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining composure and remaining focused on delivering optimal patient care is essential.

Responsibilities:

- Perform thorough physical examinations and diagnostic assessments of animals presenting for urgent care visits

- Develop appropriate treatment plans for various urgent care cases with the help of a scribe, considering the severity of injuries or illnesses, available resources and client needs

- Perform diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and bloodwork, to accurately assess and diagnose patients.

- Administer medications, fluids, and other treatments as necessary to stabilize patients and alleviate symptoms.

- Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.

- Collaborate with other veterinarians and veterinary staff to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

Requirements:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.

- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Virginia.

- Experience working in an urgent care or emergency veterinary setting preferred.

- Strong diagnostic and medical skills, with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic bedside manner.

- Ability to work flexible hours
