Our Food Safety and Quality Supervisor tasks include conducting laboratory analysis on incoming raw materials and manufactured product. The position is responsible for sensory and physical testing and manufactured product. The position is responsible for sensory and physical testing (INCLUDING TASTING) of incoming and finished products, correctly identifying issues, and notifying the QC manager.
Qualification :1 to 2 years of related Quality Control and supervisory experience in manufacturing environment. Bilingual English and Spanish is required.
Degrees: High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma ( GED). Supervisory experience in QA/ QC Department in food or beverage manufacturing is required.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists in Food safety and Quality document development
2. Assists in root-cause analysis for QC, customer, operation issues
3. Participates in continuous improvement activities.
4. Maintains licenses and permits current.
5. Trains batchers, Quality Control Technicians, and operators on quality and food safety procedures.
6. Trains warehouse and operators on appropriate documentation.
7. Acts as food safety leader with and in the absence of Food Safety practitioner.
8. Perform analysis of finished products, in process and raw materials to check characteristics against testing specifications to assure quality prior to shipment.
9. Calibrate and operate QC testing instrumentation in a safe and professional manner.
10. Notify QA/ QC Manager of unusual product observations, or analytical results, during analysis to assure potential quality issues are identified, reviewed and resolved prior to release of product.
11. Maintain sample retention inventory.
12. Ensure all appropriate paperwork (COA's) accompanies shipments of raw materials.
13. Maintain an orderly, safe work area.
14. Maintain retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation.
15. Comply with MSDS, SOP's, GMP's and HACCP procedures.
16. Participate in conducting monthly regulatory inspections.
17. Attention to detail.
18. Knowledge of basic general science skills.
19. Write and communicate areas of interest.
20. Ability to multitask efficiently
21. Good computer and math skills.
22. Documentation of laboratory work using laboratory worksheets/notebooks; documentation must be detailed, accurate and meet GMP requirements.
23. Filing, data entry, and ordering (entering lab results in Excel, organization and filing of MSDS and COAs' ordering of lab materials as needed).
24. Performing routine laboratory maintenance tasks including organization and cleaning of work areas, disposal of product samples, chemicals and hazardous waste.
25. Performing peer review of notebooks and worksheets.
26. Performs document review of production logs and water quality reports.
27. Monitors CCP's and PPC's
28. Informs food safety and quality supervisor / quality control manager when deviation occurs.
29. Has the authority to stop the line if a deviation occurs,
