Job Summary
Prepare specimens and aid in the instruction of first-year veterinary students in the laboratory portion of the Gross Anatomy module of Structure and Function I, II, and Ill. Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of specimens, create and maintain models for use by the instructional staff to review material, to use on exams. This includes euthanizing and embalming horses, cows, and goats for students and the instructional staff to dissect.

• Aid in the laboratory instruction the Gross Anatomy module of the Structure and Function I, II, and III, proctor exams, and support of the veterinary curriculum.

• Provide guidance to students in and outside of class regarding how to perform their dissections.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and help in the creation of a safe laboratory environment.

Additional Physical Demands
Allergies to hay, straw, or animal dander may cause discomfort based on the location withing the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications
1. BS in Biology, Animal Science, or related field

2. Minimum 2 semesters (9 months) of experience working in a research laboratory; that can include experience obtained as a student

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience handling large animals
2. Prior experience in instruction of anatomy and anatomical specimen preparation
3. Experience in a team setting

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 2/1/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
