Job Summary
Develop chiral metamaterials, conduct atomic-scale characterizations of hierarchical self-assemblies and employ X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy for structure solution. Additionally, the role involves the development of optical instrumentation with chiral discrimination, experience with Focused Ion Beam milling for AFM tip preparation, mentoring students in colloidal chemistry, TEM, and SEM techniques, writing research articles and reports, actively securing new funding as an independent researcher and presenting research updates in international conferences.Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
• PhD in Materials Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field • Proven expertise in developing chiral metamaterials using colloidal chemistry • Demonstrated experience in atomic-scale characterization of hierarchical self-assemblies • Proficiency in structure solution through X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy • Track record of developing optical instrumentation in the UV-Vis to NIR region with chiral discrimination • Hands-on experience with Focused Ion Beam milling for AFM tip preparation • Prior mentoring of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students in colloidal chemistry, TEM, and SEM techniques • Certification or training in relevant laboratory safety protocols

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the posting period closes. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000/year.
