Clinical Dentist Responsibilities
UVMMC is recruiting a part time (2 days per week) dentist to work in both an outpatient and inpatient clinical setting. Experience in care of medically complex patients, special needs care in an operating room setting, and management of inpatient hospital dentistry is necessary. Supervision and education of GPR residents is also included in this position. Interest in a team based approach and collegial educational setting is imperative.
The dental clinic at UVMMC houses four GPR residents per year. Rotations include time in the outpatient general dentistry clinic, in an FQHC, and also in the medical center managing hospital dentistry. A dentist who is interested in education, hospital care of dental patients, and a team player would be ideal.
Requirements: Successful completion of a CODA approved general practice residency, eligibility for a Vermont dental license.
Provides treatment and planning in a specific discipline of patient care or study to include:
-May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care and prevention
-Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations.
-Management of medically complex patients
-Operative dental treatment in a hospital setting
-Education and supervision of dental residents
