Job Summary Join the Louros Lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Our lab is an affiliate of the O'Donnell Brain Institute, at the Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases.
We are a newly established lab hiring a full-time experienced Research Associate that will be involved in cutting-edge projects focused on gaining mechanistic insight into protein aggregation/amyloid formation, as well as the role of interactions between amyloids and other proteins or biomolecules as modifiers of amyloid assembly in disease-associated and functional amyloids. This role is central in the daily research performed in the lab, aimed at addressing major neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's with the ultimate goal of developing a novel class of therapeutics. To accomplish this, our lab projects integrate techniques ranging from molecular, synthetic and structural biology (with emphasis on cryoEM), to biophysical/computational characterization and biological engineering of macromolecules.
