Job Summary:

Seeking to add a member to a team of high performing analysts creating reports using tools such as SQL Management Studio, Excel, and Power BI. This position is focused on creating analytics in support of the Health System Strategic Plan, as well as meeting the day to day requests at the hospital and clinic level necessary to help maintain, optimize, and grow the individual programs. The ideal candidate will be able to learn multiple datasets and apply them to both hospital and ambulatory operational and financial analytics.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or other related fields and three (3) years business analysis and/or project experience with a minimum one year experience working with tools similar to, but not limited to, Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS and/or querying languages similar to SAS, SQL, or R. Position requires minimum one year experience in systems development and testing, installation, and training.

Masters degree and prior health care industry experience preferred.

Job Duties

  • Operates as Subject Matter Expert in managing complex projects and can serve as primary customer contact. Defines and maintains project plan and schedules. Monitors compliance with definitions of project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Collects, interprets, and analyzes clinical and financial data to support organizational decision making, clinical and financial initiatives and strategic planning activities. Runs data queries and produces consistently accurate analyses.
  • Coordinates with external vendors to accumulate standard survey or benchmark data on key healthcare metrics.
  • Provides practical and relevant ideas and perspectives on process or practice improvements which can be easily implemented.
  • Integrates information from various sources to create meaningful presentations for solving business problems (charts, diagrams, process flows, etc).
  • Coordinates testing of new dashboards, scorecards and other reporting platforms as well as changes to existing reports and models to ensure integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training of users.
  • Compiles complete, concise, and comprehensive reference or resource materials and operation procedure guides to assist applicable staff.
  • Creates business requirement documents and works with data warehouse team through entire development cycle to implement the requested changes.
  • Works with manager to establish priorities for accomplishing design, implementation, and testing of various projects.
  • May mentor and/or train lower level analysts.
  • Documents a full assessment of risks, issues, assumptions and definitions.
  • Records time spent on projects to meet cost-recovery requirements.
