Job Summary

This position works under general supervision to provide skills for maintenance and repair of electric, electronic, and pneumatic controls to ensure required temperature and humidity to all campus buildings. This involves responding to HVAC problem calls in clinics, research laboratories, vivarium, and offices.

Shift Requirement: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; on-call for one week on a rotating basis every 10 to 12 weeks.

Experience and Education Requirements
  • High school graduation, Vocational school or GED equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in electronic technology field or vocational school with completion of manufacturers service course in repair and maintenance of temperature controls preferred.
  • One (1) year experience in HVAC DDC controls and related HVAC systems required.
Job Duties
  • Diagnoses, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts electric, electronic, and pneumatic HVAC controls using tools of trade to ensure required temperatures and humidity to all campus buildings.
  • Operates computer-based Siemens Apogee automation system to include graphical front-end interface, building level control field panels, and terminal control units.
  • Performs duties of Utilities Station Operator in emergency or as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Work requires walking, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., pulling/pushing equipment up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily in indoor areas.
