POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for maintaining and cultivating relationships within an assigned region of the United States, which will include Washington, Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Montana.

The chosen candidate is expected to live within the region (ideally we would like a candidate to live in Idaho, but would be flexible for other locations within this position's region).

This position requires extensive travel in the month os September with intermittent throughout the academic year.

They report to the Institutional Relations Director and are part of the Institutional Relations Department

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm local time zone and may fluctuate or additional work hours may be required. Weekend and evening work hours may also be required, especially during peak travel/event seasons.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaison to Universities in Assigned Region – 70%

  • Manages relationships with universities in an assigned region of the United States, maintaining existing and cultivating new partnerships
  • Serves as a general USAC liaison and designs & executes strategies for effectively engaging partner institutionwith the goal of promoting USAC and recruiting students
  • Travels to universities within assigned region to conduct campus visits and attend study abroad fairs 
  • Organizes and facilitates virtual promotional events, such as info sessions
  • Conducts outreach to study abroad staff, faculty, and students
  • Initiates and manages inter-institutional agreements
  • Develops operational processes, such as setting up registration and billing arrangements
  • Assists universities with special requests and efforts to integrate USAC into their program portfolios/curriculum 

Project Management– 30%

  • May be responsible for managing specific projects or programs that USAC offers to help its partners internationalize and/or organize/help organize events and/or coordinate USAC’s attendance at conferences
  • Attends occasional conferences

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least four years, or Master’s Degree and at least three years of post-graduate, full time, professional experience in the field of international education

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Personal study abroad experience, or extensive travel or living abroad experience
  • A self-starter with excellent customer service, human relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving, project- and time-management skills
  • Experience planning and executing virtual events for a variety of audiences, such as webinars and info sessions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently in a home office setting 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Previous experience working in a study abroad setting
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Event-planning experience 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The duties of this job are mainly performed in a home office environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and at times stand, and walk. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regular travel is expected as part of this position.
