Credit Recovery Director

As the Credit Recovery Director at University Prep, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for our students. You will lead a team of dedicated educators and staff members to create a vibrant and engaging learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

Role Summary:

The Summer School Director of Credit Recovery will oversee the school's summer school academic programming. They are responsible for the equity and quality of experience that students receive through the summer program.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive academic program that aligns with university preparatory standards and goals.
  • Design and implement innovative and dynamic curriculum that challenges and inspires students to reach their full potential.
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of passionate educators who are committed to student success.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a well-rounded educational experience for students, including extracurricular activities and college readiness programs.
  • Foster a culture of academic excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Attend organizational meetings with other summer school administrators.
  • Assume responsibility for registration and assignment of students and submit to SOM.
  • Requisition and inventory of classroom equipment, supplies, and textbooks, as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for supervision of students and for attendance accounting. Submit enrollment and attendance reports. Addresses questions and concerns from parents and students in collaboration with attendance agents as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for supervision of teachers and for attendance accounting. Submit attendance reports to finance.
  • Hold and facilitate weekly summer school staff meetings as needed
  • Handle discipline issues as needed.
  • Monitor the quality of instruction for summer school course offerings.
  • Observe lessons and coach teachers on instructional delivery for improved student outcomes.
  • Report the grades and progress achieved by summer school students.
  • Prepare and submit an initial report summarizing the pre-assessment data. Prepare and submit a final report summarizing the post-assessment data and the overall academic impact.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Home Office and/or designee.


Experience/Education:

  • Three years minimum successful experience as a classroom teacher or leader with evidence of strong academic outcomes on vetted local and state assessments
  • Evidence of work toward administrative certification is desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and communicate the summer school program.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading staff meetings


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, with a focus on curriculum development and instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of university preparatory standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and inspire excellence in others.

Compensation:


Signing Bonus:
$1,000


Stipend:
$7,500 (includes 20 hours of planning and preparation)


Attendance Bonus:
$1,000


Potential Total Compensation:
$9,500 (paid in two installments July 31 and August 15)


Dates:
July 8- August 2nd


Work Days:
Monday -Friday

  • Summer School Director of Credit Recovery must be in attendance the entire summer school session.

** Summer School Director of Credit Recovery must be present for the entirety of the Summer School Day, depending on each school’s working hours.
