Summary

The Applications Specialist manages all district software applications, evaluates and implements, & supports new applications, and is considered the ultimate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all mission critical applications including schoology, powerschool, and various other applications. The Applications Specialist manages the customization of the site parameters and addresses integration issues with other software packages.

Role Responsibilities

  • Software Systems Administration, updates, & maintenance.
  • Student Information Systems (powerschool).
  • Learning Management System (schoology).
  • Support of classroom cloud applications (performance matters, iDashboard).
  • Enterprise Applications Integration (kissflow, schoology, zoom, powerschool, sysaid).
  • Enterprise Applications Maintenance.
  • Update & maintain internal communications platform (intranet).
  • Reports errors to vendors and works with vendor technicians to correct the problems.
  • Prepare the server(s) that applications will run on.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Troubleshoot, and resolve reported problems.
  • Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades, and new services.
  • Provides second level of technical support for all mission critical applications
  • Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
  • Monitor the software application, and document and analyze problems
  • Plan, coordinate, test, and communicate changes, upgrades/maintenance schedules, and new services
  • Generate reports and database queries
  • Respond to requests received by the help desk in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in related work.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadershop skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and G Suite.
  • Knowledge of applications such as Powerschool, Schoology, SwiftK12
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a high degree of professionalism.
