University Orthodontics is always looking for experienced Orthodontic Dental Assistants to assist the Orthodontist with regular orthodontic check-ups.

To be successful as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you should have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to ensure the safety of patients during orthodontic procedures. Ultimately, an exceptional Orthodontic Dental Assistant should be able to demonstrate patience as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

Orthodontic Dental Assistant Requirements

  • Proven experience working as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant
  • Preferred 2-3 years experience as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant
  • Sound knowledge of various orthodontic procedures and practices
  • Preferred experience with Invisalign iTero scanning (3-D scanning)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be a team player, have a friendly and positive attitude, and a sound work ethic

Orthodontic Dental Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Orthodontist in all aspects of orthodontic treatment
  • Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, and elastic bands
  • Making orthodontic adjustments as directed by the Orthodontist
  • Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare
  • Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health history and treatment progress
  • Scanning for digital impressions utilizing the iTero digital scanner
  • Taking digital intraoral x-rays
  • Taking extraoral photographs of patients' teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress
