The Associated Students of Madison (ASM) is the shared governance body representing the over 50,000 students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. ASM strives to create an inclusive workplace environment. This position requires a strong commitment to student shared governance, an understanding of student organizations, a dedication to working with a diverse student and staff team, and a commitment to continually engaging in financial best practices to support General Student Service Fund (GSSF) student groups. The ASM office consists of 6 professional staff members whose roles range from Financial Specialists, to the Leadership & Advocacy Program Manager. The General Student Service Fund (GSSF) Advisor will work closely with the Director and the Financial Services Team within ASM.

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Required:
* At least 1 year of experience in a financial or customer service role (e.g. bookkeeping, accounts payables/receivables, accounting, purchasing, auditing, customer service representative).
* Experience interpreting and analyzing financial policy and procedure.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to provide a positive customer experience and communicate with clarity and precision.
* Proficiency with computer software/applications, automated data analysis, and data entry techniques.
* Ability to take initiative, work independently, and have creative problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of University, State, Federal, and/or Non-federal rules and regulations.
* Familiarity with UW-Madison Purchasing, fiscal, travel, and/or administration procedures is preferred but not required.
* Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is strongly preferred.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely at an offsite, non-campus work location upon supervisor and department/Student Affairs division approval.

The expected starting salary range for this position is $47,700 up to $52,700 for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Wisconsin statutes empowers ASM to review and allocate over $45 million of segregated fee dollars each year and advise the Chancellor regarding decisions and policies concerning student life, services, and interests. The ASM office consists of 6 professional staff members whose roles range from Financial Specialists, to the Leadership & Advocacy Program Manager. The GSSF Advisor will work closely with the Director and the Financial Services Team within ASM.
ASM is part of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, led by the vice chancellor for student affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, identity and inclusion, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy. Student Affairs includes departments led by the dean of students; departments that provide identity-based spaces and leadership resources; the Wisconsin Union; University Health Services; and University Recreation and Wellbeing.
