This is a two-year project position in the Office of Informatics and Information Technology working on the Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) Project, which will be upgrading the finance, human resources, and research administration systems across UW-Madison to use Workday. This position will be tasked with learning the current state, helping support and maintain the current processes, visualizations, and reports, and helping design and build the future state of front-end data visualizations and reporting for the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). There may be an opportunity for this project position to be converted to permanent (renewable) after two years.

Qualifications or knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- 2 or more years of data analytics experience
- Able to quickly learn new tools and software
- Experience using relational databases and writing complex SQL queries
- Able to follow detailed processes with close attention to detail
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication
Additionally required to be considered for BI Developer III
- 4 or more years of data analytics experience
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring colleagues in best practices regarding data use and data communication
- Experience in proactively handling data issues
Additional knowledge and skills preferred:
- Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, PowerBI)
- Experience with Workday
- Experience with HR or financial data
- Experience with ETL tools and techniques (ex. IICS)

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location. An on campus location will be provided should a candidate prefer to work partially or fully onsite.

The starting salary for the BI Developer II is $75,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
The starting salary for the BI Developer III is $85,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
