University of Western States is Hiring a Remote Naturopathic Physician

Job Description: 1. GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION Position Name: Naturopathic Physician Classification: Contracted Provider FTE: .40 FTE Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8-15 hours. Variable based upon patient needs Work Location: Portland Campus at 8000 NE Tillamook St. Compensation: $41/hour plus share of collections Department/Division: Clinic Supervisor: Dean, College of Naturopathic Medicine 2. POSITION SUMMARY • Conduct examinations and provide for the management of patient health. • Perform required diagnostic testing. • Discuss review of findings, risks and benefits of treatment options with patients to provide informed decisions for patients regarding their care • Prescribe and administer appropriate treatment and therapy within the scope of practice including but not limited to pharmaceutical, botanical, homeopathic, dietary, exercise, and lifestyle counseling. 3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (90%) Clinic Intern Development Responsibilities • Provide evidence-informed patient care within the scope of licensure. • Supervise and train interns regarding naturopathic medicine. • Evaluate intern performance and provide feedback to students and administrators. • Develop and maintain appropriate doctor-patient relationships. • Develop and implement interprofessional relationships. • Maintain appropriate medical records in accordance with applicable university policies, regulations, and legal requirements. • Participate in workshops and training sessions as required (10%) Other Responsibilities • Remain current in clinical practice skills. • Adhere to university policies. • Assist or consult with government, accreditation and/or professional credentialing organizations as requested. • Adhere to all federal HIPAA and FERPA requirements and UWS standards to protect the security and privacy of patient health and student records. • Adhere to all state & federal OSHA regulations. 5. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education & Training Required: Doctor of naturopathic medicine degree Certifications & Licenses Required: Active Oregon and Washington Naturopathic license (in good standing). Preferred: Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate Experience Required: Minimum of three years of clinical practice. Preferred: Five or more years of experience in clinical practices. Experience in higher education teaching & clinical skills assessment. Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, and students. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal oversight or supervision. Ability to solve problems and make effective decisions in matters requiring an immediate response. Ability to prioritize, organize and work efficiently. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in work environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability and willingness to function in healthcare team environments. Ability to understand and exercise discretion. Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality. High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care. Preferred: Adaptability to changing environments and situations and capacity to learn new systems and processes.
