UW Medical Center - Northwesthas an outstanding opportunity for an experiencedpart time or full time (90% or 100% FTE, 36 or 40 hours per week), evening shift ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER (Registered Nurse 3)to join our inpatient hospital Float Pool. The Float Pool provides coverage to our acute care and critical care units, which include our emergency department, our ICU, our telemetry floor, our psychiatric unit, and our surgical teams. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supervisory position, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination. The Assistant Nurse Manager acts as the house supervisor for the float pool during their assigned shift. The Assistant Nurse Manager will oversee patient placement and throughput and will act as the main onsite leadership when administration is not present. This is a great opportunity to lead a team where no two shifts are alike. SCHEDULE 36 or 40 hours per week. The evening shift runs from 3:00pm-11:30pm. Occasional work hours may be required from 7:00am-3:00pm. RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with the Assistant Director and Nurse Manager in managing day to day operations and strategic planning
Plans, implements, and evaluates educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care (in-services, continuing education, etc.)
Assists staff in identifying and meeting their ongoing educational goals
Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
Establishes effective work priorities, methods, and project flow
Maintains accessibility and follow through to Nurses, Technologists, Radiologists, and Management
Participates in unit and organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
Models service excellence in daily practice
Performs and participates in annual evaluations
Demonstrates ability to provide just in time feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient/family communication
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
Intervenes to address illegal/unethical/unprofessional professional practice of any member of the health care team
Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote staff and patient safety MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
2 years of inpatient hospital nursing experience
BLS
An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
