University of the Pacific is Hiring a Wedding and Event Host (Temporary Employee Pool) Near Stockton, CA

Primary Purpose:
The Wedding and Event Host will manage day-of events. The responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that meet quality expectations. They help guide the event and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Essential Functions:
Event managing day-of for weddings and events at Morris Chapel within time limits.
Liaise with clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide feedback and periodic reports to Morris Chapel Coordinator.
Organize facilities and manage all events details as outlined by Morris Chapel Coordinator and the event planning sheet.
Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience as an events planner or organizer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Reliable, positive attitude, and proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations.
Portfolio of previously managed events (weddings, meetings, parties, corporate events).
Willing to submit references from previous clients.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is performed five to ten (5-10) hours weekly, which varies by month depending on scheduled events. Flexible schedule to accommodate events including weekends and odd hours.
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience, non-exempt
